BROADWAYS NOT READY
I was lucky enough to see BUSTED before they, well! busted because contrary to popular opinion I thought they were a great pop band, think Undertones with a glossy finish and less good songs, but I was pleased my 8 yr old chose them over some of the other less gifted shite in the charts. Anyway, they sprang to mind while I watched BROADWAY strut their stuff at the Egypt last week, all young, all gifted, but without the corporate packaging, having gigged their way around Europe and beyond with an old car and trailer rather than super bus and entourage. What did they have that busted were short of?. Bloody good tunes and more originality than you could ask for, lead singer on keyboards? What the...but it works and as the band thrashed through the set you had to say that these lot will fit in the pop charts like a hand in glove if they get the chance.
