JETPACKS FOR HIRE
Watching this band was a strange one for me, having read on the old myspace that they regarded themselves as 'emo', I was expecting the worst, and despite a brief listen to the site tracks ,I was taken aback by the unexpected musicality of the band, having connected 'emo' with 'no fuckin talent, just play louder and whine a bit' in my head...probably just from listening to the many bandwagon jumpers that fit that bill. (any good examples of the genre please get in touch!!) so anyhow, three songs in I was hooked, a really tight and rocky (in a good way) drums and bass, some verse chorus verse type of songs, and what a singer. EVAN SLADEN (poss. made up name) really making me feel bad for my earlier thoughts, sounding a bit like Mike Scott from the Waterboys weirdly enough, and it all fitted in an original package, these are a ROCK BAND and that’s all the label we need ,just get of your arses and go and see them to decide yourselves!! and plus, to other promoters, what good people to deal with, no mucking around, just turned up and did a great show!!
