PAMA INTERNATIONAL
Finny ,front man for PAMA INTERNATIONAL hits the stage at the Newcastle Uni suited up and cool, staring out the audience and getting straight into the smooth reggae Ska vibe that this band do so well, his really distinctive vocals riding over a sound that is always traditional but with nick Mannaseh on the decks it has a modern dubsy feel, just shouting out 'summer afternoon street party'. Sean Flowerdew as always puts his all into the keyboards, Fuzz Townsend’s drumming was rock solid, Kirk the bass player (from Lee Perry) was slick and deep, this gives the songs all the filling, but the absolute icing for me was the outstanding trumpet work throughout the set by Simon Wilcox ,this is real jazzfreestyleing over the songs but never unwelcome or to much. the band deserved a bigger crowd than they had, tough luck to those who missed it. What a gem of a band.
